The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where you develop your skills as a leader while having fun and making connections.
A Multi District RYLA was organised by Rotary Club of Darjeeling from the 2nd to 4th of August 2024 at HMI, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. A total of 102 young leaders from Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Mirik, Guhuwati & Nepal.had registered for the RYLA of which 33 were from Kalimpong. There were 15 Interactors from the Interact Club of Dr.Graham’s Homes, 8 Interactors from the Interact Club of Rockvale Academy and 10 Interactors from the Sasonian Interact Club. The 33 Interactors were escorted by Rtn.Siddhant Sood. They left in a convoy of four vehicles. Despite the bad stretch of road near the Teesta bridge the Interactors reached HMI Darjeeling safely and on time. It was an intensive, activity based two nights and three days for the Interactors. They went as Interactors but now they can proudly call themselves Rylarians. RC Kalimpong is proud that we were able to garner 33 slots for our Interactors. Of the three best Rylarians, the second runner up trophy was awarded to Intr Suyash Mani Pradhan of the Sasonian Interact Club.
