The Rotary Club of Kalimpong held its 33rd Installation on the evening of 7/7/24 at its centre. The outgoing President, Rtn Mahindra Agrawal, installed the incoming President, Rtn Sheila Rai Fudong, in a ceremony which adhered to the rules, regulations and traditions of Rotary International. The chief guest was past Rotarian and Governor’s Special Representative Mr Lee Pradhan. Among the dignitaries were Past Rotarian Tapan K Pradhan, Director Saptashri Gyanpeeth, Nereus Mukhia, Program Coordinator HANDS and Mr Bhernone Britto retd Dy Magistrate and Dy Collector. A special guest was Mrs Gauri Mukhia, the sister of the patron of RC Kalimpong Rtn Dr Khem Fatimi. Rtn Indira Bose, a charter member and the daughter of the late Mrs Aparna Bose who donated the land on which the centre now stands was also present. So was the eminent lawyer, Charter member Rtn Pravakar Dewan. Members with their Anns and guests were present too. Along with the President, her Board of Directors and Chairs were also introduced. Two members viz Rtns Rajat Dalmia and Pravin Pradhan, Headmaster of Dr Graham’s Homes School were felicitated for 25 years of excellent ‘Service Above Self.’ The first and only major donor of RC Kalimpong, Rtn Prakash Gupta was given special mention. He has contributed a cumulative amount of 10,000 USD to the Rotary Foundation. The chief guest also handed over PHF and the different levels of MPHF pins to Rtns Col PC Thapa, Col AK Gogoi, Vikash Golyan Sr, Karan Pradhan, Abhishek Pradhan and Ann Cammy Changia.
