28/7/24 The Kalimpong Rotary family celebrated the Ann’s Night with music, games and dancing followed by a sumptuous dinner. The theme was’Old is Gold’ The Ann’s were welcomed individually by the Club’s President with a red rose. She also welcomed them with an address. All the Ann’s and the lone Andy looked stylish in their retro outfits. The best dressed prize was awarded to Ann Sonia Golyan.
She was retro from her bouffant hairstyle, to her blouse and sari to her shoes. Her baby daughter Rotarylet Jhanvi won the golden scratch card. Ann Deepsahana Pradhan won 2 games prizes. We had a housie game too but this time it was alphabets instead of numbers.
The Ann’s had to spell out their names on the cards provided and then do the needful. There were group games galore, fun and dancing. The Emcee Rn Vicky jr did a fabulous job overseeing the smooth flow of the programme. He was also the Chair for the Ann’s Night Committee which out did themselves planning the event. Mention must also be made of the Club Service Director Rn Vikash Golyan sr. He is an ace when it comes to organising starters, drinks and mains for the Club. We would be left drowning without him. He is so down to earth that he serves food himself, he hands out napkins, he is a gem. Our membership in RC Kalimpong is a homogeneous unit. Each member brings something to the table. Individual Rotarians never shirk the responsibilities given to them. This first month of the RY ’24-’25 has seen ample proof of this. I am so proud to be leading this wonderful, wonderful group of people. Three cheers for the Kalimpong Rotary family!!
