Celebrating Breastfeeding Week

Rotary International is always in the forefront of spreading awareness of vital issues. Did you know that Breastfeeding is celebrated every first week of August? This year the theme was ‘Closing the gap: breastfeeding support for all’ Us Anns and lady Rotarians celebrated the fact that we have breastfed our babies. Breast milk is the best food for all babies till 6 months. It contains vitamins, minerals and nutrients. It keeps a baby healthy and helps protect against some short- and long-term illnesses and diseases. Breastfed babies have a lower risk of asthma, obesity, type 1 diabetes, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Breastfed babies are also less likely to have ear infections and stomach bugs. #TheMagicOfRotary #rotaryinternational
