Nation Builders Award 2023.

On 10th September 2023, Rotary Club of Kalimpong held the Nation Builders Award Programme. 12 teachers were selected as per RILM norms. Assessment process was carried out in 10 schools. Since there was a tie for the first place in two schools, 12 teachers were selected from 10 schools. This year we engaged students from class 8 to evaluate the teachers. Being students of a higher class they defiantly showed good understanding of the job they were executing. The names of the schools and teachers are as follows:

1. Mr. Aeiln Lepcha and Ms. Thinlay Peden Bhutia from Algarah Higher Secondary School.

2. Mr. Leo Chettri from St. George’s Higher Secondary School.

3. Ms. Shilpa Chettri from Pagang Gumpa Higher Secondary School.

4. Ms. Kalpana Darnal and Mrs. Karma Phuti Bhutia from PranamiBalika Vidya Mandir.

5. Ms. Sushma Thapa from Kalimpong Jubilee High School.

6. Mr. Noel Lepcha from Ganesh High School.

7. Ms. Manila Rai from Lolay Sampu Higher Secondary School.

8. Ms. Sujata Chettri from Tista Bridge High School.

9. Mr. Sagar Thapa from Kumudini Higher Secondary School.

10. Mr. Priyabrat Jaiswal from Army Public School Kalimpong.

The Chief Guest was the MLA Kalimpong, Mr. Ruden Sada Lepcha. He was very impressed by the work that Rotary Club of Kalimpong is doing in the field of Education. In his speech he promised to provide funds for Teachers’Training and Happy School projects. We were elated by this commitment and decided to immediately submit project proposals.

Hony. Rtn Manindra Bhujel was the Guest of Honor. He spoke to the gathering on “Role of a Teacher”. As usual his knowledge in the subject is vast and interesting.

The programme ended with lots of photo sessions followed by lunch and fellowship.
