REPORT ON THE 16TH INSTALLATION CEREMONY OF THE
INTERACT CLUB OF SAPTASHRI GYANPEETH
After a hiatus of several years , the 16th installation of the Interact Club of Saptashri Gyanpeeth was held on 4th August , 2023 at their school hall from 3.30 pm onwards .
It was a ceremonious occasion in which the Chief Guest was Rtn. Mahendra Agarwal – President of the Rotary Club of Kalimpong and the Guest of Honour was Rtn CA Sumit Jindal, New Generation Director and IPP – Rotary Club of Kalimpong . Ex – Rotarian , Shri. Tapan Pradhan – Director of Saptashri Gyanpeeth was also present to grace the occasion and give his blessings to the President of the Rotary Club and also the Interactors.
Many Rotarians were also present to witness the occasion and the other guests present were Interactors and Faculty Counsellors of the Interact Clubs of St. Augustine’s School, Dr Graham’s Homes, Rockvale Academy and Vrindavan School and the Rotaractors and their Faculty Counsellors of Rockvale Management College.
The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were escorted to the dais by Mr. Nipanjan Paul – Faculty Counsellor of Saptashri Gyanpeeth . The programme began with a welcome address given by Shri. Tapan Pradhan – Director of Saptashri Gyanpeeth and offering of Khadas to all .
Rtn. Mahendra Agarwal – President of Rotary Club of Kalimpong offered a Rotary khada to Shri. Tapan Pradhan – Director of Saptashri Gyanpeeth .
The Chief Guest then installed the Sargent – at – arms , Intr. Dechen Lepcha and handed over the band to her and explained to her the duties and responsibilities .
Therafter , the SAA escorted the incoming President Intr. Aaisa Kalikotey and incoming Secretary Intr Sadikcha Chettri to the dais. Felicitations were done. The Faculty Counsellor of the Interact Club of SGP, Mr. Nipanjan Paul , was also offered a Rotary khada.
Next, the President of RC Kalimpong installed the new Interact President Intr. Aaisa Kalikotey who then gave her acceptance speech . The President – RCK also installed the Secretary Intr Sadikcha Chettri .
The President of the Interact Club of Saptashri Gyanpeeth introduced the members of her Board of Directors and Lapel Pins were given to them by the Guest of Honour – Rtn. CA Sumit Jindal . Lapel pins were also given to the 28 new Interactors after which the New Gen Director Rtn CA Sumit Jindal administered the oath to them and it was followed by the Treasurer’s report by Intr. Mahesh Pradhan .
Thereafer the Guest of Hon, Rtn CA Sumit Jindal gave out his address and one of the points he mentioned was that the Interactors should wear their lapel pins with pride and live up to the motto of ‘Service above Self.’ They should also maintain punctuality, decorum and discipline and that there were numerous benefits of becoming an Interactor and that it is an International Club .
His address was followed by the address from the Chief Guest – Rtn. Mahendra Agarwal – President – Rotary Club of Kalimpong . He too spoke at length about the ideals and virtues of being an Interactor and also about the theme of Rotary International for RY 2023 – 24 . CREATE HOPE IN THE WORLD .
There was an entertaining cultural programme by the Interactors of SGP followed by vote of thanks and greetings proposed .
The newly installed President Intr Aaisa Kalikotey adjourned the installation programme for tea and snacks.
