Report on the special meeting of the Interactors and Rotaractors with the District Governor RI District – 3240 .
The Interactors of the Interact Clubs of Vrindavan School, St Augustine’s School, Dr Graham’s Homes and Rockvale Academy along with the Rotaractors from the Rotaract Club of Rockvale Management College had a very fruitful one on one meeting with our District 3240 Governor, Rtn Dr Khushnava Pabi on 9th April at 2. 30 pm at the Rotary Centre.
They were accompanied by their Faculty Counsellors Ma’am Nirupama , Ma’am Priya Thapa and Sir Anurag Balmiki respectively. The Head Master of Dr Graham’s Homes, Rtn Pravin Pradhan was present in lieu of their Faculty Counsellor.
The President of RC Kalimpong, Rtn CA Sumit Jindal welcomed all and began the proceedings. Each club gave an update about the projects they had managed to fulfil till date and also thier plans and targets .
The Interactors have collected funds by running stalls during school fetes and events. They have done projects as varied as buying curtains for their school hall to providing sanitary napkins in the girls’ bathrooms. They have visited orphanages, animal shelters and govt primary schools. They have handed out copies and stationery and sponsored medical fees and educational fees.
A boy from an underprivileged background is being sponsored by the Interact Club of St Augustine’s School for studying in a High School. They are endeavouring to spread the message about how to protect and save the environment.
The Rotaractors celebrated Rotaract week by feeding stray dogs.
The DG gave a pep talk to these young students. He was impressed by their zeal and attitudes. He stressed on the fact that they were laying the foundation stone for being future members of Rotary and also the fact that their leadership skills were being developed. The students gave their reasons for why they felt happy being Interactors and Rotaractors. Each of the Faculty Counsellors too spoke a few words about their observations and how they went about doing things in their schools. It’s because of their guidance that the Interactors are who they are. The New Gen Director, Rtn Sheila Rai Fudong summed up matters before the meeting was adjourned. PE Rtn Mahendra Agrawal kindly volunteered as the photographer and the SAA while PP Rtn Sanjay Bajla was present to monitor the sound equipment.
